Grassmarket Gem
3rd Apr 2018
Great hotel conveniently located in the heart of Grassmarket. Lots of restaurants, shops, bars within walking distance. The staff go above and beyond to help. Breakfast next door at Biddy Mulligans is delicious. Parking isn't on site, it's at a nearby parking garage within walking distance and they give you a discount at the hotel to use. Comfortable bed, great shower, and delicious in room chocolates.:) We would definitely return!

Brilliant place

Terrific place to stay to explore Edinburgh only a few minutes to all the excellent place to visit. Across the road is Greyfriars cemetery & sitting in the Grassmarket district below the Castle is within walking distance of most attractions, theatres, museums & the vast array of drinking establishments & specialized eating places. Hotel was clean & tidy with the rooms cleaned towels changed everyday. The rooms are beautifully decorated in a quirky manner with a room map of Edinburgh with magnetic labels. Coffee, Tea & wine are provided when you arrive& bathrooms although not huge the showers cubicles are big & spacious. Breakfast is next door in Buddy Mulligans which is continental & a full English with as much juice tea & coffee as you like it is an extra £10 per person but there is lots to eat from the simple menu. They serve meals throughout the day & you do get 15% hotel discount on meals The staff were extremely nice & informative & we would recommend this hotel as a base to see the historic city.

Amazing stay!
1st Mar 2018
Visited in mid February with three of my friends so we shared the lovely quadruplet room! The room itself was so spacious and nicely decorated, very clean too! Marshmallow teacakes were popped on our desk EVERY DAY much to my delight (and my friends')! The room had speakers which was awesome for us when we were getting ready in the mornings, Lovely powerful shower and cool toiletries too! We did struggle a bit with the toilet flushing but it seemed to sort itself out. The beds were really comfy and we made use of the big fiat screen tv most nights as we were there while the Winter Olympics were on. The hotel was very quiet when we visited, I think we only came past one other person in the four days there. All the staff we came across were so nice and helpful with giving us advice and suggestions on what to do. The location of the hotel was perfect It is so close to the castle and is situated at the bottom of an extremely cute colourful street. Everywhere was so easy to walk to from the hotel. Overall it was an amazing stay and we had a really enjoyable trip! We decided to book to stay here after my mum and sister had visited the previous year and loved it, definitely a good suggestion!

The Grassmarket Hotel is where I always choose to rest my head when in Edinburgh. Staff are fabulous and there's no request they do not fulfill. Its in the center of everything and Royal Mile, Castle, National Museum, etc. are all within walking distance. Very good breakfast in the attached pub Biddy Mulligans. Will definitely be back.

all the negative snobs
8th Feb 2018
This one goes to the people that have the cheek to give this a negative review. By far the best valued hotel I've been in. Central Location with everything on your doorstep. We had a free bottle of bubbly and bag of pick n mix for our anniversary. Not only that, the staff took our bags to our room when we were early for checking in. The rooms are completely unique, modern and contemporary. Couldn't place a fault in the rooms. And a personal favourite of mine is the speakers in shower, what a dance I had! Find me a better valued hotel and i'll pay you 100 quid. As you were.
